Take a long look at this 7,900 sq. meter expanse; it’s as if a huge sports gym was turned into an automotive factory! Examine the detailed exhibitions of Automobile Mechanisms and Component Parts, Automotive Technology, Manufacturing Technology. Observe actual machinery operations, cross-cut component models (with viewer control buttons), experimental apparatus, and production equipment. Enjoy the clear and easy-to-understand automotive demonstrations with realistic visual and audio effects.

This area introduces the progress of materials research based on “the spirit of being studious and creative,” through the re-creation of our initial plant.
The Materials Testing Center, originally established by Kiichiro Toyoda for the development of automobiles, provides an accurate view of the work performed in the early years of the automotive department.
The Prototyping Plant also shows the beginnings of “making things,” recreating the hardships born to create the A1 Body prototype passenger car. This reproduction gives a clear picture of the hand-forged sheet metal work through a full-scale diorama.

Structural remains found at the present Aichi Steel Corporation in Kariya City, Aichi Prefecture, were transferred here to construct this building
Toyota’s first domestically manufactured mass production automobile, the Model AA passenger car, along with launching, and sales organization explanations.
An introduction to the mechanisms and components making up the automobile and the changes and advancements achieved over the years: examine the basic automotive mechanisms - running, turning, and stopping - as well as the key component parts in a car - engine, transmission, and breaks. Learn more about the main components that contributed to automobiles of higher performance, better safety features and more comfort.”
From the beginning of the business to the present Toyota Group, you’ll follow the footsteps of the technological developments and the Toyota cars that represent each age of automotive history. Watch the progression of material development technology, design technology, test & evaluation technology reaching the overall establishment of Japanese automobile technology.
Introducing the technical developments and enhancements of automotive aspects such as safety measures, cleaner exhaust gas, and fuel efficiency, aimed at a symbiosis among people, the society, and the global environment. Discover state-of-the-art achievements, such as Prius and EV (electric vehicle), which drive the development of new automotive mechanisms and components, including next generation power sources and technology.
Here you will find a partial reproduction of the Koromo plant, originally built in the early stages of automotive mass production in the second decade of the Showa Period. The actual plant is now the location of Toyota Motor Corporation Head Plant. Informative displays on Model AA Passenger Car assembly, casting, forging, and machining use dummies to show the actual work performed in each process.
A modern timeline of breakthrough production equipment. Take a gradual look at Toyota’s production technology transitions, from the gigantic 600-ton press machine to welding/assembly/painting technology employing robots and automated equipment.
This theater takes you on a time travel journey going back 100 years and shows the research and development activities that are taking place all over the world at this very instant, on a large 360-degree omni-vision (10-screen) system.
